Recording your android phone screen is useful for many reasons. You might to record a tutorial, capture gameplay, record a phone call, or save an important moment on your phone. Thankfully, Android offers multiple ways to do this, and you don’t need to be tech savvy to get started.

In this guide, I will walk you through different methods to record your screen. Whether you want to use Android’s built-in screen recorder, third-party apps, or even a computer. I will also show you how to adjust settings for better quality, edit recordings, and fix common issues.

1. Use the Built-in Screen Recorder (Android 10 & Above)

If your phone runs Android 10 or later, you don’t need to download any app because the built-in Screen Recorder does the job. Here is how to use it.

How to Access and Use the Native Screen Recorder

  1. Swipe down twice from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel.
  2. Look for Screen Recorder. If you don’t see it, tap Edit (pencil icon) and drag the screen Recorder to the Quick Setting spanel.
  3. Tap the screen recorder, and a small menu will appear.
  4. Choose whether you want to record audio (microphone, device audio, or both) and whether to show screen touches. 
  5. Tap start Recording, and a countdown will begin.
  6. To stop recording, tap the stop button in the notification bar or pull down the Quick settings again and tap Stop.

2. Record Your Screen Usign Third-Party Apps

If your phone does not have a built-in screen recorder, or if you want more advanced features like editing tools, face cam, or live streaming, third-party apps are a great choice.

  5. Stop recording using the floating menu of the notification bar.

3. Record Gameplay with Android’s Game Mode

If you want to record gameplay, many Android devices come with a Game Mode/Game Launcher that includes a built-in screen recorder.

How to Enable and Use Game Mode for Screen Recording

  1. Open Game Mode/Game Launcher (Found in Settings > Advanced features on Samsung or Settings>digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls on other devices.
  2. Add your game to Game Lanucher (if not automatically detected)
  3. Launch the gem and look for the screen recording option (usually a small camera icon)
  4. Tap Record, play your game, and stop the recording when finished.
